Use “Delete my Instagram account” to stop using Instagram for good. But before you do this, there are a few things you should think about. First, you’ll need to turn off your account, turn on two-factor authentication, and then delete all of your information.
Delete all your information
Depending on how you use Instagram, you may want to know how to delete everything from your account. This could include all of your photos, videos, texts, searches, and other information. By closing your account, you’re removing all this information from Instagram’s computers. But even after 90 days, you can still use it.
How to Delete My Instagram Account
You’ll need to make the right choice before you can do this. Click on the personal icon in the top right part of the screen to get to the menu. Then you should go to Settings. You’ll then need to click on the Privacy & Security tab. The next thing you need to do is decide why you want to delete something.
This will let you see a page with a list of all the third-party services linked to your Instagram account. There are also links on the page that let you see your information in a text editor.
Turn off your account.
You can delete your Instagram account if you want to protect your privacy or if harassment is making you uncomfortable. Both iOS and computer platforms let you do this.
To delete your Instagram account, you must first log in with your username and password. After you log in, click on your personal picture and then on the Settings button. Once you’re on the Settings page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Temporarily Disable My Account. You can also choose to get rid of your account for good.
If you delete your account, you won’t be able to see your name or send texts anymore. You also won’t be able to see tagged pictures or posts that other people have liked. You also won’t be able to use the search bar to look for your username. Some people will also stop following you.
Start two-factor login
Set your Instagram account up for two-factor security. You can do this through your profile’s settings. Your account will be safer because of it. From the app, you can also turn off two-factor security. To turn on two-factor security, you will need to link a phone number to your account.
When you turn on two-factor authentication on your account, you will need to enter a security code. This code can come from Instagram or from a security app from a third party. Depending on the type of identification you choose, a recovery code may be sent to the phone number you gave when you set up your account.
You can also turn off two-factor authentication by going to the Settings menu on your Instagram page. At the top right of the screen, you’ll see a three-line choice. Go to the tab for Security.
Get your information
You can get your Instagram information on your computer by using a web browser. Your personal details, texts, comments, photos, and videos are all part of this data. This includes all of your friends and all of the settings for your account.
Instagram gives you this information in two formats: HTML and JSON. If you need it in a different format, like CSV or Excel, you can use a JSON to CSV translator to turn it into that format. You can also click on the email link to get the information.
After you get the email with your information, you’ll need to put in your email address and password. You can also choose to have the link to download sent to your phone.
After you enter your email address and password, you can choose the file type you want. In about 48 hours, you’ll get the information.
Turn on your account again.
You can do a few things to get your Instagram account back if you removed it by accident or want to use it again after it was suspended. Reactivating your account, on the other hand, can take a few hours. You might have to prove who you are or agree to new terms of service.
First, open Instagram’s main app. You can also go to the help area on Instagram. If your account was shut down, you can make a case. You’ll have to say why you want to use your account again and give some information about it.
You might have to prove your phone number, so make sure to check it. After that, Instagram will give you an email with a protection code in it. You can then put it into the app to get your account back up and running.
